Customs and Excise rules

How much am I allowed to bring into the country if I travel abroad?

When you visit an EU-country, usually you can bring in the same quantity as when you enter Germany. Destinations outside the EU often have very different customs regulations. No matter which country you’re travelling to, we would recommend that you familiarise yourself with the customs regulations of the country you want to visit.

You can find further information about customs regulations at (-> Privatpersonen -> Reisen).

How much am I allowed to bring in when I travel to Germany?

The quantities of goods that you’re allowed to bring in on your return trip to Germany depends on which country you’re travelling in from.

You can find the corresponding import quantities in the custom allowances.
